Rug Hooking mounted on vintage Apple Crate Boards
Rich burgundy and reds contrast the the bright yellow sunflowers that are tacked on this old crate wood from our farmers market that we had at our farmstead. Now I repurpose the wood whenever possible and this seemed a good fit!
An example of an old world skill that I thoroughly enjoy exploring. My Newfoundland roots have many old rugs that have been passed down to me from the 1800's. When these when made, they were out of necessity to keep floors warm. Today I like exploring the skills while using sometimes unconventional materials in my pieces.
